Yes. We provide in-home breastfeeding medicine visits across Vail and the surrounding area, with the same medical care we offer in clinic.

Is a home visit covered by insurance?

Often, yes. We’re in-network with most major commercial plans, AHCCCS, and TRICARE. Because we often see families quickly, sometimes the same day or the next morning, and we offer Saturday visits, we can’t always confirm benefits before your visit, and we never let that delay care. These are medical visits, so your plan may apply a copay, coinsurance, or deductible. We’ll help you understand your coverage, and final benefit details are ultimately between you and your plan.

What if I’d rather come to the clinic?

What a Vail home visit covers

We bring all the equipment with us and meet you in the comfort of your home to check on both mom and baby. It is the same visit we would do in clinic, apart from in-office procedures and lab draws, which we handle at our Central Tucson office.

A wellbeing check for mom, including blood pressure in the early postpartum weeks
Thorough tongue-tie evaluation, with a release only when truly indicated

Most insurance accepted, and care that never waits on it

One thing we watch closely: your blood pressure. Postpartum high blood pressure can be life-threatening, and most maternal deaths linked to it happen after delivery, not during it. Hypertensive disorders are tied to roughly 7% of US maternal deaths, and nearly three-quarters of those deaths happen in the postpartum period, often after hospital discharge and just as OB visits taper off. Because we are in your home during those early weeks, we check it, and we are proud to have caught dangerous postpartum hypertension in several families this past year, in time to get them care.
