Barrio Babies is a nurse-practitioner-led breastfeeding medicine clinic at 3112 N Country Club Rd, in the heart of Central Tucson. It’s where we welcome mom and baby together for unhurried, in-person care, and where we handle the things that need to happen on-site, like in-office procedures and lab draws.
A warm welcome for mom and baby
From the moment you arrive, our front-desk team is here to make things simple, checking you in, sorting out insurance, and helping you feel at home. Our clinic is set up around the couplet, so mom and baby are seen together as one visit, with room for feeding, questions, and real conversation. It’s calm, unhurried, and built for new families.
What to expect at an in-person visit
- A full feeding history and a live feeding observation, with time to actually watch a feed
- A medical exam of both mom and baby, because feeding problems usually sit between the two
- Weighing and pre- and post-feed weighed feeds when they’re useful, on our in-clinic baby scale
- On-site testing and lab draws when they’re needed, without a separate trip
- A clear, written plan you leave with, and coordination with your pediatrician and OB
Plan for a longer visit than you may be used to; we give feeding the time it deserves. If you can, feed on your usual schedule so we can see a typical feed.

- Mastitis & plugged ducts (same-day)
- Nipple pain, vasospasm, thrush
- Tongue-tie evaluation & in-office frenotomy when indicated
- Newborn jaundice & weight concerns
- Prescriptions and on-site lab draws when needed

Hours: By appointment, with same-week visits usually available, including Saturdays and most holidays, when many practices are closed. Telehealth and home visits are available too. Call (520) 869-3565 for current availability.
